Cheers to a fabulous fifty years for Jada Pinkett Smith. Baltimore’s best just celebrated a half centennial and, of course, she did it her way. Earlier this year, Jada put on skates and showed us her moves and it seems like she wanted to spread the fun to her loved ones. The actress and Red Table Talk host was the star at Jada’s Roller Rink last Friday night. Along with her family, guests including Debbie Allen, Lauren London and Toni Braxton skated the night away while sipping on custom drinks. Pinkett Smith shared a video of herself to her Instagram Story while seated under a sign that said, "Jada's Roller Rink." "I rolled into 50 like…" she captioned the clip. We hear you, boo!
The rink was outdoors and Jada and guests enjoyed a moonlight skate. "I got to skate with Mother Moon last night for the first time in my life," she wrote.
Of course, tributes poured in from around the industry as well as from Jada’s loved ones and she celebrated the milestone starting with her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, who shared photos of her daughter throughout the years with the message: "Guess who's turning 50????WOW!! Unbelievable!!!50 years ago today @ 12:38pm you arrived weighing a whopping 7lbs 3 3/4 oz, I was and still am so very proud. I thank God for the village of family and friends who helped me guide you over the years. I take very little credit for the incredible woman you have become. I am overwhelmed with gratitude. In this next season, I wish for you an abundance of love, laughter, health, wisdom, peace and just all the things as ordered by the divine. Life is short. Live yours to the fullest every day!" the proud mother advised. "You are my greatest pride, my beauty!! Happy birthday @jadapinkettsmith. I love you❤️."
And, ever the centered Earth goddess, Jada shared some special birthday knowledge via PEOPLE Magazine about what the most beautiful part of turning 50 is. “That you are done convincing people. That you're smart enough, that you're pretty enough, to convincing people that you're worthy. Coming into the last four years for me has really been about that transformation about coming to the self and having acceptance for the self and having to go through many different kinds of personal journeys; to come to that place of really grounding myself in that understanding," she shared. "That's been the most beautiful part of almost turning 50.”
The ladies of the Red Table Talk also surprised Pinkett-Smith with a special episode of the show featuring tributes from the likes of Angela Bassett, Samuel L. Jackson, George Clooney and Toni Braxton.
Now that’s a celebration fit for a Queen.
