We all want clear and healthy skin, but some of us are looking for safe and natural ways to do it.  One of the best ways to do this is by making DIY face masks.

There are numerous basic pantry staples you can use to make them.  They include avocados, lemons, honey, yogurt, milk, limes, water, and even certain spices.  Before you create the mask, it's a good idea to learn about the health benefits of the ingredients you choose to use.  Speak with your dermatologist before beginning a major home remedy routine for your skin to avoid bad reactions.

Here are a few DIY face mask ideas.

Banana Face Mask

Mash a ripe banana with a third cup of honey.  Then apply to your face and let sit for ten minutes before rinsing it off.  The vitamin A that is in bananas is helpful in moisturizing your skin and because they're anti-inflammatory, bananas can reduce the excess oil that causes acne.  And according to some medical studies, raw honey also possesses anti-inflammatory qualities.

Oatmeal Face Masks

Combine a half cup of oatmeal with egg whites and a little honey to create an oatmeal face mask.  Oatmeal hydrates your skin, works as a gentle exfoliator,  has different types of phenols that act as antioxidants, and works well for all skin types.  You can also substitute milk or plain yogurt for egg whites.

Strawberry Yogurt Face Mask

In a bowl, mix a cup of dry oats, three tablespoons of honey, three cups of strawberries, and a few teaspoons of lemon juice.  Then apply the mixture to your face and let sit for ten minutes before rinsing off.  Strawberries are high in vitamin C, and you can add some orange juice to boost the intake of this vitamin in your skin.

Grapefruit Honey Mask

Like other citrus fruits,  grapefruit has a natural bleaching quality that decreases hyperpigmentation in the skin.  When you add egg whites to the mixture, you increase your collagen intake.  Apply the mixture to your face and let sit for 15 minutes before rinsing off.
