Saweetie popped off 2023 with a performance at the AT&T Playoff Playlist Live in Los Angeles.

Get Into The Look

While her performance was everything and more, her outfit of choice definitely stole the show. Champion’s first-ever global culture consultant, hit the stage in a sparkling silver Champion corset top with baggy black and white sweatpants. The corset top featured a plunging sweetheart neckline, a halter neckline and crisscross straps on the bodice, with champion spelled out.

For accessories, the Icy girl paired the fit with oversized earrings, diamond bracelets and fingerless gloves. For hair she rock her fearless blonde and brought the crimped look back. She started her performance off in ankle booties and eventually swaped out the heels for Air Jordan 1 Retro High ‘Silver Toe.’

One thing is for sure, Saweetie always understands the assignment when it comes to performance outfits and setting the vibe.

Saweetie The Actor

Outside of entertaining crowds and being a content queen, the Grammy-nominated rapper is bringing her talents to streamers. Saweetie has been confirmed to be on season two of the hit TV drama series Bel-Air on Peacock. Bel-Air is a re-imagined version of ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,’ she will appear as herself in the show.

This isn’t her first time making an appearance on a television show. She previously appeared in multiple episodes of ‘Grown-ish’, the spin-off of ‘Black-ish’ as an emcee named Indigo. The “My Type” artist took to her Instagram story to write she’s “hella excited” about her cameo.

“It’s an honor to be here,” she continued. “Shoutout to the cast, they’re really dope, good vibes,” she said in a clip that showed her celebrating with other actors on the show.

Variety said of her character’s description and role in the show, “Her South LA street smarts put Will’s Philly swagger to the test when they are introduced to each other at a Venice basketball tournament.”

The series will also see three new recurring faces when the second season debuts next month, including Brooklyn McLinn (“Cloak & Dagger,” “Black-ish”), Jazlyn Martin (“This Is Us,” “All American: Homecoming”) and Riele Downs (“Darby and The Dead,” “Henry Danger”). When previously speaking of booking the “Grown-ish” gig, the “Best Friend” hitmaker admitted to being nervous.

In a past interview with Complex Saweetie said, “The first time on set, it was just a little nerve-racking because I [wanted] it to be perfect for them. But I found when I was just in my vibe, in my moment with Yara [Shahidi], that’s when the best scenes would come.”

The Year Ahead

From the looks of it, Saweetie is clearly just getting started in 2023. She posted a video of herself catching a football in front of a building with the logo NFL on it to Instagram. Her caption read, “Up to somethinnn ! 🏄🏽‍♀️❄️ #SUPERBOWL 🏈✨.” Could this be a tease for a performance taking place next month in Arizona for the Super Bowl?!

Rumors have been swirling around about Saweetie potentially joining with Roc Nation. Roc Nation is known to bring on heavy hitters. Take Rihanna as an example, and we all know Saweetie is a superstar so the partnership wouldn’t be a surprise. Only time will tell, as we’re 27 days out from the big game.

Fans can also catch Saweetie hitting the big stage at Rolling Loud California 2023. The festival will take place March 3rd – 5th at Hollywood Park Grounds adjacent to Sofi Stadium. Headliners this year include, Playboy Carti, Travis Scott, Future and Lil Wayne.
