The school year is starting and whether you’re a parent looking to send your little ones off in style or a teacher looking to swag out your classroom, there are a lot of black-owned brands you can shop. Most schools are returning to in-person teaching, for now; therefore, the tradition of back-to-school shopping can commence. Well, we are always looking for ways to keep it all-black everything so we’ve done some digging and found companies that you can support this school year.

NikNax Stationery and More

“Created for the culture,” NikNax was created to fill a void in the stationery world. Offering everything from notebooks to writing utensils, this is a great company to support for students of all ages. They even have notebooks specially made for left-handers. So cute!

Just Be Hue

This cute company carries backpacks, notebooks, binders, journals and everything in between. They even offer wholesale products for any educators who may want to have extra supplies available to students in their classrooms.

Cocoa Cuties

Can’t get over how adorable all of their supplies are. You can even get your young scholar a matching face mask to go with their backpack, pencil case and lunchbox. We love the little drawings of Black children with natural hair that adorn all the merchandise.

Innovative Supplies

Owned by a millennial Black woman, this supply company offers an array of custom products and apparel featuring Black art by Black artists. They also offer internships to the high school students they employ.

Oh So Paper

Can you say cute?!?! This company offers stickers and notebooks that are a perfect addition to any back to school haul. The illustrations are adorable and a lot of them feature motivational quotes that are a great way to keep you scholar focused. The stickers are an adorable way to adorn your planner, office space or desk too!

Blended Designs

From laptop sleeves to masks to backpacks and Croc charms, Blended Designs is a one stop shop for your back to school needs. They even have a HBCU inspired collection for the college bound scholars in your life.

Black Girl Powerhouse

This brand offers a fun selection of activity books, backpacks, luggage and tote bags for the little Black girls in your life. They have everything you need to make sure your little one is proudly putting her Black Girl Magic on display from the classroom to the after school activities.

Art by Aleighsha

Independent artist, Aleighsha, uses Etsy to promote her adorable pieces. Her store is extensive and includes several backpacks, journals, notebooks and totes all sporting her original art. It’s awesome to support a Black woman artist and be able to show up to school in style.

BrownKidsSwagCom

Another Etsy store where you can grab all the style points. The items in this store are all custom made to order so you may want to get a move on shopping with them to ensure you get everything you need before your little one is expected back in the classroom. Grab a dope lunchbox, backpack, pencil case and face mask all with matching art.
