We've all roamed around Target a little longer than we should. No shade, but next time you're looking for something new to buy, these ten products are Black-owned or founded and will upgrade your life. But the list doesn't stop here, Target has several partnerships with Black-owned businesses, so grab yourself or a loved one some cookies from Partake Cookies or a new planner from Be Rooted!

Partake Cookies

Gluten-free, vegan and delicious — could you ask for more? This cookie company was founded by Denise Woodard after her and her husband sought to create an allergen-friendly snack for their daughter. Among flavors like pumpkin spice, birthday cake and cookie butter, Partake Cookies will become a pantry staple.

The Get Down Coffee Company

Houston White and Dan Anderson create every cup of coffee with a hint of old-school hip-hop. One of their products, an espresso, is named after the first female emcee, MC Sha-Rock. Their coffee is located at the grocery store along with plans to open a coffee shop in Minneapolis.

The Lip Bar

While you’re strolling through the beauty aisles, grab a lippie or two from The Lip Bar. Bawse Lady, one of the best-selling red lipsticks, is a fitting name for The Lip Bar’s founder Melissa Butler. If you’re not looking for lipstick, check out their face and eye products!

Ikuzi Dolls

Growing up prior to the 2010s, it may have been a rare sight to see a Black doll in the toy section. Fashion designer and illustrator Ozi Okaro wanted young Black children like her daughters to have a Black doll to play with. If your young child/relative is a fan of mermaids, Okaro’s collection of dolls includes four mermaids with different skin tones.

Camille Rose

With nine different collections, natural hair care brand Camille Rose is sure to carry a product that will benefit your hair type. Created within the kitchen of Janell Stephens, the Louisiana native founded Camille Rose in 2011 and has been successful ten years later. Although they’re known for their hair care products, their face and body products are also available at Target.

Scotch Porter

If you’re looking for a last minute gift for a male friend or partner, these beard and hair care products for men will show your loved one that you care about their well-being. The cruelty-free and vegan products were created by Calvin Quallis to “enhance the everyday guy’s experience.” The scent profiles of their products range from citrus and spice to lavender and bergamot.

The Honey Pot

These feminine hygiene products are friendly for those on their periods and soon-to-be mothers. After owner Bea Dixon suffered from bacterial vaginosis, her mission was to use the power of medicinal herbs to create a plant-powered feminine hygiene line. Outside of menstrual products, they created a water-based lubricant for sex or ease.

Rosen Skincare

Whether your skin care concern is inflammation, scarring or occasional whiteheads, Rosen Skincare is sure to be one of your skin care staples after your first try. Founder Jamika Martin even has her favorite products: the Paloma Serum, Super Smoothie Cleanser and Tropics Toner.

Be Rooted
