The mics will be turned on! It seems like music festivals are actually making their return this fall and one of today’s biggest acts is giving us one in the heart of NYC. H.E.R is bringing back her festival “Lights On” in October, which she will headline alongside Maxwell, Victoria Monet, SWV, Chloe Bailey and others. The event will take place in Brooklyn the weekend of October 21st. The lineup is absolutely amazing and there are nothing but talented vocalists attached to it—hence the tagline #RNBIsNotDead that H.E.R has been using alongside promo material.

Started in 2019 by H.E.R herself, the "Lights On" festival has two weekends in which fans can catch all the good ole classic r&b vibes—the other being across the ocean in the Bay Area September 18th and 19th. Artists expected to perform during that weekend include Ari Lennox, Bryson Tiller, Arin Ray, Erykah Badu, Foushee, H.E.R. & Friends, Keyshia Cole, Lorea, Lucky Daye, Masego, Tone Stith, Tiana Major9, Ty Dolla $ign, and VanJess with additional acts set to be announced. H.E.R has been very outspoken about the new age artists who are keeping the genre alive and well. Some would say that she is the ring leader. Her debut album Back of My Mind reached number one on Billboard and she’s already taken home both an Oscar and several Grammys for her contributions.

We know this festival will be one that starts to become a required destination for all R&B lovers every fall.
