Chrisean Rock has made the headlines recently, but it’s time to have a conversation about the reality star’s recent reality.

Chrisean Rock’s Relationship

For months, Chrisean Rock and rapper Blueface have been at the forefront of controversy because of their high-profile romance. While many have dismissed the couple’s numerous online outbursts as “toxic,” others have laughed it off as a couple’s spat. A small majority of people also see the duo’s dynamic as abusive, with many incidents of toxic relationship abuse, and I fall into that category.

Recently, Chrisean shared a graphic video on social media, declaring that her on-again-off-again boyfriend Blueface had attacked her after she was texting another romantic interest.

In a recent update obtained by TMZ, the social media personality went back on her comments, took back her claims saying that she was “on a bad trip,” and that Blueface had attempted to rescue her from her dangerous edge. This recent development drew a lot of questions, from many people, including me, who found the story to be strange and suspicious.

The social media personality had piqued the interest of online users after news about her toxic relationship with the 25-year-old rapper began to surface on the internet frequently.

Earlier this year, Rock got yet another tattoo of Blueface, which to many, was humorous. Many others found the incident disturbing, especially because images surfaced of Blueface kissing another woman.

Although it’s easy to laugh off the antics as nonsensical, it is not entertaining, and we should all feel a little bit on edge. Although Rock has family members who have spoken out on her behalf and shared their support for her, it is hard not to view the situation with a grimace on one’s face, one thing is for sure: we should all be calling out the toxicity of the relationship, and we aren’t doing that enough. We often see severe toxicity as entertainment until it’s too late. Many people want Rock to thrive because outside of reality television, she is multi-talented, but her portrayals in the media have not been the best representation. Her struggle may often be watered down, but what I see is a woman who is struggling and is crying out for help. Like many women in toxic relationships, she has now backtracked on a story that she put out about physical abuse. This might be for a variety of reasons, but one thing is for sure: Although she may not be completely innocent in the situation, she does need support within this situation, because the entire saga is a horrible unraveling of what happens when a lack of self love meets the empty promise of a blinding love.
