Lizzo, her production company, and dance captain, Shirlene Quigley, recently came under fire after three tour dancers filed a lawsuit against them.

According to the Associated Press, dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez filed numerous charges against the three. Charges include sexual, religious, and racial harassment, disability discrimination, assault, and false imprisonment. All allegations do not apply to everyone involved.

Since the news of the lawsuit broke, others have come forward, echoing the dancers’ claims and sharing their personal experiences with the singer.

Others Share Their Experience

Director Sophia Nahli Allison took to her social media to detail her own encounters. In a series of Instagram stories, Allison shared that Lizzo was disrespectful, arrogant, and self-centered.

“I usually do not comment on anything pop culture related. But, in 2019, I traveled a bit with Lizzo to be the director of her documentary. I walked away after about 2 weeks. I was treated with such disrespect by her,” Allison wrote on her Instagram story.

She says she witnessed Lizzo being arrogant, self-centered, and unkind. Allison added that she didn’t feel protected and had to “run” from the situation.

“I’m so grateful I trusted my gut,” Allison said. “I felt gaslit and was deeply hurt, but I’ve healed. Reading these reports made me realize how dangerous of a situation it was. This kind of abuse of power happens far too often.”

The director’s former first assistant camera, Charlene Sanchez, also spoke out in support of Allison’s claims, which Allison reshared on her story feed.

“I was part of this documentary with @yagurlsophia! This is all true,” Sanchez said. “I had to vent to so many of my friends about it. It was such a small crew and the experience of working with Lizzo was a nightmare.”

Beyoncé Leaves Lizzo Name Out of Lyrics

It appears longtime Lizzo supporter, Beyoncé, may also be distancing herself from the singer. During her concert in Boston, the “Cuff It” singer left Lizzo’s name out of the “Break My Soul (The Queens Remix)” shoutout—a first for the singer. Lizzo’s name appears in the studio version of the song.

A fan video from the Boston tour stop shows the name removal. Instead, the singer called out Erykah Badu’s name; four times. Badu recently insinuated that Beyoncé was copying her style due to both singers wearing similar hats on tour.
