Adwoa Aboah, who recently shared an intimate story about an attempted suicide for #WorldMentalHealthDay, has partnered up with luxury jewelry brand John Hardy to launch the AA x JH collaboration collection. The two have been working together for about a year now — Aboah was originally the face of the brand and now she’s involved in their capsule collection. This is the first time that the brand has partnered with anyone despite the 50 years they’ve been in the business.

When creating the capsule collection, Aboah worked closely with Hollie Bonneville Barden, John Hardy’s creative director. They decided to use the brand’s iconic chains as their starting point, and transformed them into body harnesses, single drop earrings and twisted bracelets.

To adorn the jewelry, mystical stones were specifically chosen to accent the pieces along with some beautiful colors. Stones used include hematite, pyrite and black tourmaline for grounding purposes, as well as pink tourmaline, spinel and rose quartz, which are meant to bring light and energy.

The collection also features a signet ring which was inspired by Aboah’s grandmother who owned one. Aboah’s personal twist included adding sparkly stones, which was in honor of her safe-haven for young women, Gurls Talk. The prices for the capsule collection range from $295 for a single chain earring to $24,000 for a more intricate body chain.
