Meghan Markle recently opened up in a recent interview with “The Cut” for their Fall Fashion issue. In the interview, Markle gives some insight into her former life as a royal, forgiveness and her life in the U.S.

Meghan Markle recently drew a lot of attention after her interview with “The Cut” went viral. In the interview, Markle opened up about navigating life as a royal and spoke about how challenging it is to forgive Britain’s royal family and her biological family. She also candidly spoke about Harry’s tense relationship with his father. Ever since the duo stepped down from their royal duties, reports have underscored that they have had a tense relationship with the British royal family.

“I think forgiveness is really important. It takes a lot more energy to not forgive,” said Markle. “But it takes a lot of effort to forgive. I’ve really made an active effort, especially knowing that I can say anything.”

Ever since the former actress moved back to the U.S with her family, she has been more open about the struggles and backlash that she faced as a royal. In addition to her Spotify-sponsored podcast, Archetypes, Markle has been candid about life in the U.K, and the tensions that ensued. In a viral interview with Oprah Winfrey last year, she spoke about the racism that she experienced and the ways that the U.K press treated her family.

Markle also touched on her podcast and alludes to it as a platform that inspires her to be reintroduced to the world in a clear and authentic way. She also  shared how the podcast has empowered her to finally use her voice in an authentic way. Meghan shared that she was enjoying a private life, without the pressures of probing eyes from the tabloids because of her former royal status. The mother of two also recently another podcast today, featuring Mariah Carey on her podcast.
